A perfume inspired by the many dramatic films that explore our uneasy relationship with atomic power.

The Atomic Age profoundly shaped global politics, society, and culture through the Cold War, fostering both immense anxiety about nuclear war and optimism about nuclear power. Part of the cultural expression of that anxiety were the myriad films created about the awesome power of the atom. From the satirical to the serious, there are so many films that express our collective anxiety over the possibility of complete annihilation or survival in a post-apocalyptic world. Films like: Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, The Planet of the Apes, A Boy and Dog, and The Day After, entertain and horrify in equal degree.

I see an obvious parallel to the current moment as we approach the precipice of a new existential cliff, the AI Age. Once again, we are creating something that will have the power to do incredible good for the human race or annihilate it completely. For better or worse, we are married to the technologies we create. It begs the question; will we be ruined by the flower of our own industry?

Atomic Bride Perfume is an explosion of traditional bridal flowers. We’re talking the big divas of the floral world: Gardenia, Jasmine, Tuberose, and Orange Blossom. All those flowers are topped by incandescent Aldehydes that blast this perfume into the stratosphere. But this isn’t just another pretty floral. Underneath the flowers are the smoking remains of a ruined world. The air is poisoned, and there is the sharp tang of Twisted Metal and Burning Rubber. This is a big floral with an edge.
